Mona is a sophisticated contemporary bar designed to enhance the nightlife experience in a US College town, emphasizing elevated social experiences serving fine foods, craft cocktails, and aesthetics inspired from the Renaissance.
The Art Behind Mona
Mona Bar & Lounge was founded in 2026 by Stephanie Brandt and Henry Love, two longtime members of the Bloomington community. Stephanie began her culinary career at a young age, managing restaurants locally and spending years with Indiana University Catering & Events. Henry graduated from IU in 2020 while working as a server at Da Vinci, later opening Gateway Subs in Florida before returning to Bloomington to purchase Da Vinci in 2023.
Together, along with their families and team, they have grown the Da Vinci brand and brought a new vision to life next door. Mona was created to offer something Bloomington had been missing — a high-end cocktail bar centered around craft, quality, and experience.
Designed in collaboration with Venezuelan firm Noodles Design Co., Mona blends thoughtful architecture with refined aesthetics to create one of the most distinctive and elevated spaces in the Bloomington.

Working with well-renowned, highly acclaimed mixologist, chef, & hospitality entrepreneur Nick Detrich (Jewel of the South, Cane & Table, Manolito, Magdalena), we have built an extraordinary bar program, and pride ourselves in having the finest crafted cocktails in Bloomington.
